Hello to all,
What a great meeting again. David Rundle and Gavin Rea kept the audience attention with Gavin’s career in building and passion for interesting cars in his life. David recounted details of an unfortunate incident with a fortunate outcome. David informed us that he recently experienced a stroke but due to quick action by his wife, Dianne and the hospital medical service he recovered quickly and can continue his usual activities with some minor adjustments unlike many less fortunate. David advised us to be aware of the acronym, F-A-S-T to help others detect stroke signs. Let us all be aware.
Face – drooping, Arms weak can’t lift above head, Speech difficulty, Time to call 000 – quickly.
Barry Ahearn gave an interesting show and tell presentation of the restoration of his ex police Mini Cooper S. I believe the prep was a family affair with his daughter doing the excellent video and his wife Kim proudly attending the presentation and drawing the raffle tickets for us. Well done by the Ahearns!

This Sunday 2nd May from 8am - Our free BBQ at McCarrs Creek reserve features Euro vehicles (cars & Bikes) in the centre parking but all are welcome to attend with family. Please bring picnic chairs, table, cutlery, crockery inc. coffee mugs etc. Attendance last time was 85 so it is a great opportunity for new members to meet others and wander around the many interesting vehicles. Breakfast includes choice of cereal, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, onions, eggs, bread, fruit juice, tea, coffee plus fruit – usually watermelon & rockmelon.
Volunteer chefs required from 7.30am to initiate our splendid new stainless steel BBQs. Our trusty old BBQs will be auctioned off very cheaply on the day!
Car boot sale – bring any vehicle parts or memorabilia for buy, sell swap at your car.
An informal auction can be held for more valuable or interesting items – bring plenty of cash!
Looking further ahead we need to prepare for the Unique Vehicle Display at RMYC on Sunday, 23rd This is a long-standing event – over 13 years and a major charity fund raiser for our club and RMYC so we encourage all to enter vehicles and/or attend as spectators. Application form attached. Other clubs also enter so there is a great variety of vehicles, including motor bikes and hotrods. We have over 50 entries so far. Entries close at our next meeting
The committee could not do more to provide interesting events for you and our greatest wish is that all members should participate as often as possible.
Happy motoring and enjoy your club – your attendance is our measure of success!
